We had a visit with two of the B-Sens at our February Booster Club
meeting. Forwards Shawn Weller and Scott May stopped by and
gave us a brief personal biography followed by a question and
answer session.

We changed things up a bit for the boys since they wanted to get
over to the arena to see the Harlem Globetrotters. They got to speak
with us prior to our meeting versus our usual chat following the
business meeting. Here’s a synopsis of what went down:

Shawn Weller, 21, hails from Glens Falls, NY. He was playing
for Capital District Selects of the Eastern Junior Hockey League
when drafted. He was drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the 2004
NHL Entry Draft. After being drafted, Shawn enrolled at Clarkson
University, where he played for three seasons. In 2006-07, he was
Clarkson’s leading scorer with 41 points, including a team-high 19
goals. After the 2006-07 NCAA season was finished, he made his
professional debut with the Binghamton Senators for 5 games. This
season he has spent time with the Elmira Jackals in the ECHL, but
has since earned a regular spot here in Binghamton with the
Senators.

Scott May, 26, is from White Rock, British Columbia. He was
drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft
while he was playing at Ohio State University. After spending 4 years
at OSU, Scott began his professional career in the 2004-2005
season. Scott played for several teams in both the ECHL and the
AHL from 2004-2007 including St. John’s Maple Leafs, Pensacola Ice
Pilots, Trenton Titans, Milwaukee Admirals, Phoenix Roadrunners
and the Iowa Stars. This season, Scott spent time with the Manitoba
Moose (AHL) and the Elmira Jackals (ECHL) before earning a
regular position here with the Senators.
